Some things are best said in words. Some things are best said in pictures. Yannis Dettingmeijer’s photography captures the good food, the good booze, the good people, the good times, better than I could ever portray them with nouns, adjectives and verbs.
I was extremely proud of my team, Los Chili Dawgs, composed of recipe developer Don Day’s Wife and recipe executor Chef Mark Tamiso as they took both the People’s Choice and the Judges’ Choice awards at this year’s Cookoff. And yes, I was that old unshaven geezer in the ratty jeans and too-tight hoodie, stumbling around, taking all the credit.
Great pictures from Saturday. I can almost taste the chili. Perfect day for me to be released from my
house (dr’s orders) out into the world of San Miguel . OLE!
To celebrate your win, I am going to make a batch of chilli tonight and you can bet it won’t be half as good as yours! I looked at your recipe and wowee that looks like a lot of work. Great pics!
Looks like we missed a really great time! Next year.
Congratulations to you and Sharon!
